An African Vision for Evidence-Based Development

D4Act was founded with a bold premise: Africa's most pressing development challenges - from health systems reform to climate-resilient agriculture - can only be solved with rigorous, locally-generated evidence and African-led analysis.

Our Mission

Our mission is to turn Africa's data into lasting impact. We achieve this by combining world-class research methods with deep contextual understanding of the communities we serve. Every project begins with listening - to government partners, community leaders, and frontline workers - to ensure our evidence directly informs the decisions that matter most.

Headquartered in Lomé, Togo, we operate across Africa, with a growing network of researchers, data scientists, and field coordinators embedded in the local contexts they study.

"A future where African decision-making is consistently informed by rigorous evidence - that is the world we are building, one dataset at a time."

- D4Act Vision Statement

Our Core Values

Integrity

Transparent, honest research. We report findings as they are - not as stakeholders want them to be. Our credibility depends on unwavering commitment to methodological rigor and ethical practice.

Impact

Every study, every dataset, every dashboard is designed to improve real lives. We measure not just outputs but transformative outcomes - changes in behavior, policy, and well-being that endure beyond project timelines.

Innovation

From satellite-powered crop monitoring to AI-driven health analytics, we embrace cutting-edge methods. Innovation at D4Act means adapting global best practices to African realities - not importing solutions wholesale.

Sustainability

We build capacity, not dependency. Every engagement includes knowledge transfer, local team training, and systems designed to function long after our direct involvement ends.

Collaboration

The best evidence emerges from partnership. We co-design studies with government ministries, international organizations, NGOs, and academic institutions - ensuring research questions reflect local priorities.

Excellence

We hold ourselves to the highest international standards of research quality. Our analyses withstand peer review, our methods are reproducible, and our findings are published for public scrutiny and learning.
